Medicare rebate: $145.25
Out of pocket: $104.75
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, we can discuss options to make treatment more affordable.
Couples therapy is not typically eligible for Medicare rebates, though some private health insurers may offer coverage — please check with your provider.
Note that the Australian Psychological Society’s recommended fee for a standard 50-minute consultation is currently $311. I aim to keep my fees well below this guideline to remain accessible, while also reflecting the time dedicated to your care — including case preparation, documentation, and professional correspondence completed outside of session.
To claim the Medicare rebate, it is necessary to first obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or Psychiatrist. You may be eligible for up to 10-rebateable sessions per calendar year.
If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim rebates for psychological services. The level of cover and any waiting periods vary between providers and depends on your policy. Note that you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health insurance for the same session.
When your appointment is booked, this time is reserved just for you. When appointments are cancelled with short notice, it is often too late to book in another client.
Two full business days’ notice is requested if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations with less than 2 business days’ notice: 50% of the session fee will be charged.
Cancellations within 1 business day or non-attendance: 100% of the session fee will be charged.
Please note: Late cancellations and missed appointments are not eligible for Medicare or private health rebates, and clients are responsible for the full fee.
Sometimes cancellations are unavoidable. If something comes up alternatives may be offered during your scheduled time, such as:
A phone or video appointment.
Development of therapy resources
Liaison with relevant stakeholders (e.g. GPs, schools, allied health)
Writing of reports or letters
A brief check-in phone call
