Substance Use Disorders & Addictive Behaviours

I have a particular interest and depth of experience in the treatment of substance use disorders. This is the field in which I completed a PhD, from which I published several research papers and book chapters. I continue to work directly with clients in an outpatient alcohol and drug service where I hold an appointment as a senior clinical psychologist. Managing substance use disorders can raise a variety of challenges, particularly in combination with comorbid mental health conditions. I am glad to offer supervision to discuss any presentations or challenges you may have in this field. 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

While I prioritise cognitive-behavioural foundations in assessment, formulation, and treatment,  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is my preferred treatment framework. I offer supervision to those with an interest in ACT in combination and extension to CBT.
