Rebuilding Connection, One Conversation at a Time
Every relationship faces challenges — whether you're stuck in patterns of conflict, feeling emotionally distant, or simply struggling to communicate. Couples therapy offers a structured and compassionate space to better understand one another, repair connection, and create a stronger foundation for the future.
I work with couples at all stages of their relationship to help reconnect, deepen trust, and navigate difficult dynamics together.
Couples come to therapy for many different reasons, including:
Communication difficulties or repeated arguments
Emotional distance, resentment, or disconnection
Infidelity, betrayal, or trust issues
Life transitions (e.g. parenting, relocation, illness)
Differences in intimacy, sex, or emotional needs
Feeling stuck in negative cycles
Strengthening relationships
I draw primarily on Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, two evidence-based frameworks that help couples move from conflict and disconnection toward emotional safety and mutual understanding.
EFT helps partners identify and shift the deeper emotional patterns that keep them stuck. It focuses on attachment, helping couples become more attuned, open, and responsive to one another.
The Gottman Method offers practical tools and strategies based on decades of research. It supports couples to improve communication, manage conflict, and build trust, intimacy, and shared meaning.
These approaches provide a balance of insight and action — helping you understand and transform your patterns.
We begin with a joint session to explore your relationship history, goals, and current concerns. In some circumstances this may be followed individual sessions with each partner, before returning to joint sessions together.
Sessions are 60 minutes long to allow time for both partners to feel heard and supported.
Whether you're working through a crisis or seeking to strengthen your connection, we’ll work at a pace that respects the needs of both partners in a safe and non-judgmental space.
Couples therapy is $280 per 60-minute session. While couples therapy is not typically eligible for Medicare rebates, some private health insurers may offer coverage — please check with your provider.
It’s never too early — or too late — to invest in your relationship. If you're curious about whether couples therapy could help, I welcome you to reach out.
